ShareRight & Prescriptions

Expenses for prescribed medications, whether dispensed, injected, or administered, can count towards the PRA, as long as they're not treatments for pre-existing conditions at the time of joining ShareRight.

Members are required to use their member ID card for purchasing prescription medications. At the pharmacy, members pay 100% of the prescription amount.

Once the PRA is met, the shareable amount is capped at $1200 per member per membership year.

In certain instances, exceptions may be granted for medications required by cancer and transplant patients.

Members aged 65 and above must enroll in Medicare Part D to have their prescription costs eligible for sharing, including those for pre-existing conditions. All sharing will be secondary to Medicare coverage.

Once the member's PRA has been fulfilled, the prescription expenses can be shared according to the following guidelines:

  • Following the initial $25 payment for generic drug prescriptions.
  • Following the initial $50 payment for brand name prescriptions when generics are not an option.
  • Prescription medications must be purchased using the member ID card (see Rx information on the card)
  • Members must utilize their member ID card for prescription purchases (refer to Rx details on the card).
  • Members are responsible for covering the entire prescription cost at the pharmacy.
  • Psychotropic medication and birth control expenses are ineligible for sharing.
