What to Do When You Need to See a Medical Provider with ShareRight

Navigating healthcare can be tricky, but with ShareRight, you have a simpler, more flexible way to manage your medical care. Whether you need to see a primary care doctor, visit a specialist, or explore alternative medicine options, we've got options. Follow these easy steps to make sure your visit goes smoothly, and your eligible costs are shared the right way.

Step 1: Choose a Provider

With ShareRight, you have the freedom to choose any provider you like. Whether it’s your regular primary care doctor or a new specialist, the choice is yours.

Need help finding a provider? No problem! Just reach out to ShareRight and ask to speak with a Care Navigator. They can assist you in locating the right healthcare provider for your needs.

Step 2: Show Your Member Card

When you go to your appointment, make sure to show your ShareRight member card. This lets the provider know you’re a member of the healthcare sharing program.

If the provider isn’t familiar or asks you to self-pay upfront, don’t worry! This is a common situation, and it doesn’t mean you can’t use your membership. Simply let them know you are a member, and if needed, you can pay the provider directly and follow the next steps for sharing your costs.

Step 3: Pay Your Provider Fee

You’ll need to pay a small provider fee at each visit. This is a part of your agreement with ShareRight, but it’s not something that gets shared through the program. Here’s the breakdown of the fees:

  • Urgent Telemedicine: $0
  • Primary Care Visit: $50
  • Specialist or Urgent Care Visit: $75
  • Emergency Room Visit or Hospitalization: $150

These fees are paid directly to your provider, but they are separate from the medical costs that may be shared through ShareRight.

Steps to Sharing Your Medical Costs

Once you've received medical care, it’s time to make sure the costs are shared. There are two ways this can happen: your provider may bill ShareRight directly, or you might pay the provider yourself and then submit your bills for sharing.

Both options work the same way, and you’ll still be saving with ShareRight. Here’s how each option works:

Option A: Direct Electronic Billing

Some providers will bill ShareRight directly for your services. If this happens, you don’t have to do anything except show your member card at your appointment and pay your provider free. ShareRight will take care of the rest!

Option B: Self-Pay and Submit Your Bills

If your provider asks you to pay upfront, don’t worry. You can still submit your bills to ShareRight for sharing. After you pay, simply submit your receipts and medical bills to us, and we’ll process them for sharing, as long as your costs meet the criteria for sharing and your Personal Responsibility Amount (PRA) is met.

No matter which option you choose, as long as your medical expenses qualify, ShareRight will help you share the costs and save money.

Final Thoughts

Using ShareRight to manage your healthcare is simple when you know the steps. Choose a provider you trust, show your member card at each visit, pay your provider fee, and then either have your provider bill ShareRight directly or submit your own bills for sharing.
